Who We Are

Absolute Auto Care is an independent auto repair shop located at 9707 Key Peninsula Hwy NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98329. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our website at absoluteautocarewa.com or contact us through our online forms.

Information We Collect

When you send our contact form or appointment request form, we collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Mobile phone number
• Vehicle information (year, make, model, and optionally VIN)
• Service needed and the message you write
• For appointment requests, your preferred drop-off day and how you plan to drop off your vehicle
• Preferred contact method
• Whether you agreed to receive text messages
• Whether you asked to join our mailing list

We email these details to our shop and to the person who maintains our website, so they can make sure the forms keep working. We also send a confirmation email with a copy of your request to the address you entered.

When you browse the site, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity also collect information about your visit, such as the pages you view and how you use them. These tools use cookies and can recognize your browser when you come back. See Analytics and Session Recordings below.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

• Respond to your inquiry and schedule service appointments
• Communicate with you about your vehicle, including appointment reminders and service updates
• Send text messages if you have agreed to receive them
• Send occasional service reminders and shop updates if you joined our mailing list
• Understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it

We do not sell or rent the information you give us in our forms, and we do not share it with other companies for their marketing purposes.

Our Mailing List

Our forms include a box for occasional service reminders and shop updates. That box is checked for you. If you don’t want to join, uncheck it before you send the form. Joining is never required to get service.

If you leave the box checked, we add your name and email address to our mailing list. The list is kept with Resend, the email service that also delivers our form emails.

To leave the list, email us at service@absoluteautocarewa.com or call (253) 884-3431 and we’ll take you off. If you’d like your details deleted entirely, just ask.

Text Message (SMS) Communications

Agreeing to text messages is optional, unless you choose text message as the way you’d like to hear back from us. If you opt in to receive text messages from Absolute Auto Care, you may receive messages related to appointment reminders, service updates, and follow-up communications. By opting in, you agree to the following:

• Message frequency varies based on your service activity.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by telling us.
• For help, reply HELP or contact us at (253) 884-3431 or service@absoluteautocarewa.com.
• Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
• We will not share your phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Supported carriers include but are not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Service may not be available on all carriers.

Other Services We Use

These services also handle some information for us:

• Cloudflare Turnstile — checks that our contact and appointment forms are sent by a person, not a bot, using information about your browser and device. It runs only on those two pages.
• Resend — delivers the emails our forms send (your request to our shop and your confirmation copy) and keeps our mailing list.
• Vercel — hosts this website. Like any web host, its servers receive your IP address and browser details when you load a page and keep logs for security and troubleshooting. Vercel Speed Insights also measures how fast pages load on about 1 in 5 visits, which Vercel says is not tied to individual visitors.
• Google Maps and Places — supplies the Google reviews shown on our site and the maps our directions links open. Reviewers’ profile photos load directly from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser details.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review their policies.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. Our own website code doesn’t set cookies for visitors; the only one it sets is a login cookie for our staff on our admin pages. The cookies you get from our site come from our analytics tools:

• Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID. They hold a random ID that identifies your browser and last up to two years.
• Microsoft Clarity sets first-party cookies named _clck, which recognizes your browser on return visits for up to a year, and _clsk, which links your page views into one visit for a day. Microsoft also sets third-party cookies, including MUID, which Microsoft says are used for advertising, site analytics, and other operational purposes.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our website still works without them.

Opting Out of Analytics

These options work:

• Global Privacy Control. Turn on Global Privacy Control (opens in a new tab) in a browser or extension that supports it. Microsoft Clarity honors it. Our Google Analytics setup does not read it yet, so use Google’s add-on below as well.
• Google Analytics. Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (opens in a new tab).
• Microsoft Clarity. Use the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page (opens in a new tab) and select Microsoft.

Blocking or clearing cookies stops these tools from recognizing your browser on later pages and visits, but they can still record the pages you view. To stop them, use the options above.

Our website doesn’t respond to browser “Do Not Track” settings, and turning that setting on doesn’t stop Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity.

Your Rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we have about you
• Correct or delete your information
• Take you off our mailing list

You can also stop text messages at any time by replying STOP or telling us. To make any of these requests, contact us using the information below.

How Long We Keep Information

• Form messages stay in our shop’s email inbox and our website maintainer’s. Ask us if you’d like yours deleted.
• Mailing list entries stay until you leave the list. When you leave, we mark your entry as removed; ask us and we’ll delete it completely.
• Google Analytics keeps event data for up to 14 months.
• Microsoft Clarity keeps session recordings for 30 days. Heatmap data, and recordings that we save or that Microsoft samples, are kept for up to 9 months.
• Email delivery records are kept by Resend, which sends our form emails. Resend keeps a copy of each email for a limited time under its own retention policy.
• Website server logs are kept by Vercel, which hosts our site, for a limited time under its own retention policy.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. Our website uses HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers. Form details are emailed to our shop; the only form details our website keeps are mailing-list sign-ups, stored as described above.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
